i was doing some research about TTC... and a question?
ok i had nooooooo idea that if you do not have the creamy CM then the sperm will only last for 2 hours
so that means the sperm will never catch the egg if it cant travel up there that fast to meet it
with that being said... i just realized that i really didnt have the creamy CM this past month.. now that concerns me.. is this a problem ?? or does it happen every now and then?

Re: i was doing some research about TTC... and a question?
I'm not sure about that because some people never get creamy CM at all and still get pregnant. I think ultimately you just want CM that is conducive to having sperm swim quickly through it. EWCM is still the best. If you don't get creamy but you do get EWCM then I think you are fine.

Not sure either. Maybe try the robitussen for next cycle?

Re: i was doing some research about TTC... and a question?
Creamy CM is not considered the fertile kind. Watery or EWCM are the fertile kinds.
Here is some info about CM from FF:
Cervical fluid is produced by your cervix as you approach ovulation due to increased estrogen. It flows from the cervix into the vagina where it can easily be observed. Your cervical fluid changes throughout your cycle, increasing in quantity and becoming more clear and stretchy as you get closer to ovulation.
In the most common pattern, cervical fluid starts out dry after your period and then gets sticky, then creamy, then wet and watery, becoming most like eggwhite as you get closer to ovulation. Usually it dries up quickly after ovulation. You may get different types of cervical fluid on the same day. Always record your most fertile cervical fluid to make sure that you do not miss a potentially fertile day.

Re: i was doing some research about TTC... and a question?
This is all going to be WAY TMI, but here goes... I had the same problem at first, but eventually I learned the difference with my own body's CM. It might sound silly but using the pictures in TCOYF actually helped. Plus, my EWCM literally looks like egg-white you would get from an egg. I didn't truly understand why it was called that until I noticed it for myself. The creamy CM looks more like lotion. Sticky is...well....sticky! And again, as TCOYF says, you may not get all three kinds, but whenever you get your own "most-fertile" CM (be it creamy or EWCM), that is when you should BD. I hope all this helps!

EWCM and watery CM are both fertile. You can use preseed also - it mimics EWCM.

Don't stress Deanna!
If anything just get some Preseed. It will do the same job that EWCM does.
Also, sometimes the EWCM stays up by your cervix, so if you aren't checking internally you might not see it.

Re: i was doing some research about TTC... and a question?
okay - so since this seems to be the CM ???? thread -
does any type of cm have any coloring to it, not red or pink or brown, but yellow'ish??? Would that make it creamy and now EWCM?

Creamy vs. EWCM is more about consistency - not color.

You'll know EWCM when you see it. You can stretch it between your fingers, it has the consistency of egg whites (hence its name).
I hear you on the IBS.

this is why some people use pre-seed it is the same consistency which allows the sperm to "swim" and doesnt kill them ( no spermicide in it)

Re: i was doing some research about TTC... and a question?
OK silly question here, but with all this talk about different types of CM, what is considered "fertile" CM?

Re: i was doing some research about TTC... and a question?
I never found quite the "right" CM for myself either. But I used Preseed when I got my BFP - that stuff is great!

EWCM and watery CM are considered fertile.
