I was rejected...
I finally got a rejection letter from the school I did a demo for a few weeks ago. They said though I had strong qulifications someone better fit their needs. I give up.....I am going to be a NYC teacher for the rest of my life. 
(Not that there is anything wrong with that; I just can't take the commute anymore.)

DH is in the same exact boat it really sucks- someone who fit their needs was either cheaper than you or related to somebody!

I'm sorry.
I totally feel you on the commute- I go from Putnam County to the Bronx- it's an hour each day. It didn't bother me so much till my daughter was born. I have too much time in to look up here, and I really do like the city.
