I was told to see a Pulmonary specialist because I am dizzy and short of breath..
Isn't that normal for pregnant women to feel?
I do not want to see a DR. about this because my dr. told me they would need to take a chest x-ray. I do not want that!
She also said some pregnant women need an inhaler or that their allergies get worse.
Anyone else go through this?

I have had some of both of those symptoms, but I see a cardiologist for some heart issues. I also have high blood sugar, so that could be contributing to some of it.
Honestly, I would probably go see the specialist and then refuse the x-ray if they recommend it. At least, it can put your mind at ease, or if there is something going on, it can be dealt with.

I wonder if they can help me without an x-ray?
Thanks

i experienced MAJOR dizziness about a month ago.... dizziness is common in pregnancy, depending on how serious it is... mine turned out to not be common
i ended up having a viral infection that attacked my inner ear

I have no idea, but my guess is they can at least talk to you about your symptoms and maybe do some other tests....blood work or something? I always think it is better to be safe than sorry. But, definitely tell them that you don't want an x-ray if you aren't comfortable with that (I wouldn't be either!)....what's the worst they can do? Kick you out of the office,

Do you have asthma?
They may be able to do pulmonary function testing to see how your lung function is... without taking an xray.
I don't think a pumlonologist would be excited to do an xray of a preg lady.

Re: I was told to see a Pulmonary specialist because I am dizzy and short of breath..
I had an echocardiogram to check my heart function when I went to the hospital for passing out... I know that most doctors go to lengths to avoid having a pregnant woman take an x-ray.
I would go to the specialist but voice your concerns and get answers before agreeing to it.
