I watched "Love Actually" this weekend.
I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I thought it was okay.
The whole infidelity issue was kind of a turn off. Like the thing between Keira Knightly and her character's husband's best friend.
Also, the way the United States was portrayed left me kind of cold.
However, the soundtrack was phenomenal and I really enjoyed the Daniel/Sam story line.
Was the Sarah/Karl story line ever resolved or did I miss something?

I LOVE that movie. I have the soundtrack and actually used the two instrumentals in my wedding video.
As far as Sarah and Karl, that was Laura Linney's character right? She ultimately knew her sisterly role and went to visit her brother and held him. It was bittersweet.
I guess the infidelity was just another aspect of the love relationships out there. It isn't great, but it happens.

Re: I watched "Love Actually" this weekend.
Sarah and Karl never make it work...her true love is her brother.
I loved it. I don't think they make Americans out to be cold. The one guys wants to come here because he thinks English women are cold....(oh, I'm sorry--you said it left you cold. Well, Billie Bob was a spoof on Clinton, IMO. I thought it was funny)
I don't agree with the Keira thing, but hey...he was putting his balls out there so to speak and mentioned he didn't want anything but to get it off his chest.

I thought Billy Bob was a spoof on Bush.
And I don't think Keira was being unfaithful, per se. I think she gave him a Christmas Gift with the kiss.
It wasn't a mushy romantic kiss it was a "Thank you for that but I'm in love with your best friend"

totally! I agree...I did think it was Clinton, considering the inappropriate hitting on Natalie, but I could be wrong!

Interesting. I'm going to have to listen to the commentary now to see if they say.
Maybe it's a combo of the two.
