I went for my 1st Mammography today
and they said I have bilateral cysts and I have to go for a breast sonography. Anyone have any experience/info on this? I am a nervous wreck!!!!!!

From what I've heard, they find a little something on many women and send them for sonos. My friend advised me of this before my first, and told me not to be alarmed - it's happens to lots of people.
As far as I know, cysts are usually benign and if not causing any issues are just left alone. Try not to worry

I am a mammo tech and trust me, do not freak out!! Cystic breasts is soooooo unbelievably common in women and 99% of the time totally benign. I see it all day long, and breast sono's are very common in women with cystic breasts. Please do not lose sleep over this. Sono's go hand in hand with mammo as an extra tool for viewing breast tissue. Especially cystic breasts. Do not worry, i am sure you are totally fine.

Thank you so much!!! I have been trying to find info online and the only article I found said that women with breast cysts are more likely to get breast cancer so I was totally freaking out!

I had a breast sonogram and it's weird because I was used to seeing baby in the machine's screen. One tip, DO NOT look at the screen, you will have no idea what you are looking at and make all sorts of hallucinations on what you think you saw.
Also, be prepared to perhaps be referred to a surgeon if they see anything, this is what happened to me and thankfully I was quickly ruled out by the surgeon I went to as far as cancer. It is a frightening experience, but very common.
