I win the jackass of the year award... my trip to the ER
Background info. 7:15pm. Kids haven't eaten dinner. Derek home with the kids. Lukie sick with bronchiolitis, fever cough etc. Me grocery shopping and bringing home Panera.
So I get home rushing around to get everything inside to get the kids fed, tend to the baby and get the groceries inside. I grab the stack of things from BJs (cubed beef, chicken, FROZEN TURKEY and diapers) as I am rushing to the house I drop the turkey. I leave it because Derek is holding Lukie who is asleep and the kids are digging into the Panera bag and taking all sandwiches out (recipe for disaster). I drop the other things on the kitchen counter and say "Ill be right back I dropped the turkey". I grab the turkey and in my rush to get back inside I trip on my front step (my flip flop got caught) I somehow chucked a 15lb frozen turkey into my face and landed with my forearm on either the door (the part where you walk over, name escapes me right now) or on the carpet inside which has slate underneath (converted porch). I lay on the floor thinking I broke a tooth but it was just dirt from the turkey I dropped. After 1/2 hour of severe pain and numbness and tingling in my arm after popping a vidoden I am off to the ER for x-rays. Turns out nothing is broken. I almost get stitches but refuse on my cut arm. The doc said I just hit it so hard that I just hurt some nerves and it should get better in a week or so.
I am such an a$$... Thanksgiving is going to have special meaning for me this year
