I wish I could post a bulletin to all the people in the world...
that says : STOP BUYING AVA STUFFED ANIMALS!
First of all, I have nowhere to put them. We live in a one bedroom apartment, and there's barely room for us, let alone adding fuzzy bears and animals. I appreciate the sentiment and the gifts, but at some point, I need to get the point out that anymore stuffed animals will send me into a fit of rage!
I've already donated about 60! Yes, I said SIXTY!

I made it VERY clear in the beginning when Julia was born, that I DO NOT want any stuffed animals! They are such dust collectors, thankGod my family listened!

THankfully people got the hint after Andrew. Then again, my MIL got the kids a Christmas suffed animal, so I guess some people just never learn. *sigh*

I hear ya....my MIL is constanly buying her stuffed animals.....I can't stand them....I have no place to put them and Ava doesn't even play with them.
Who did you donate tem too? That's not a bad idea.

Well, I saved them all from when she was born and then made gift baskets for underpriveleged children for Christmas at a soup kitchen that my family volunteers at. I felt like, at least they would appreciate them. I must have put three in every bag! Other than that, I donate any extras to a program run by a nun out east.

When I was pregnant I politely asked people NOT to buy us anything Disney or Winnie the Pooh...I don't like the characters and I just don't like Pooh...always reminds me of grown women wearing Pooh shirts (however, I just realised that I am wearing Hello Kitty underwear..)
So we now have no Pooh and no Disney stuff! Thank goodness!!!

Are you morally opposed to lying to people?  When my cousin was a baby my Aunt told everyone that she had an allergy and she couldn't have stuffed animals. The only thing she would allow was these FP puffalumps that have no fur. Anyway, she truly did have allergies but they were normal run of the mill pollen, dust, etc. allergies and as an adult I'm realizing now that she could've had them but my Aunt probably capitalized on the whole allergy thing? It's a though depending on how desperate you are to put an end to the invasion.

we tell EVERYONE all the time - NO stuffed animals. I still have about 50  BUT They have stopped giving them to us.
Even Salvation Army doesnt want them!

That's a good idea!
I've had my mom spread the word to family and what not, but random people always give me stuffed animals for her. People I work with, people that know my parents, etc. It's almost weird how many freaking stuffed animals she gets.
The only two exceptions are a little elmo doll that she loves and a minnie mouse that my friend bought her on her honeymoon. Ava actually loves those two

My son is almost three and has more stuffed animals then anyone I have ever known. Every time someone gets him a new one I get rid of at least two. I took this pic before we moved out of NY. A lot of them didn't make the trip, but somehow he still has a ton. Image Attachment(s):

I totally understand. I can't even begin to tell you the amount my daughter has too. Last year, the school where I work had a fundraiser for gently used stuffed animals to be donated to either an orphanage or emergency shelter type of place. I swear parents went crazy. The amount of stuffed animals collected was unbelievable. I hope they do it again this year because Emily has a lot to donate.

I know how you feel. Sammy has so many and I got rid of some. Sara has about 6 stuffed animals and I will not let her get anymorre. WHen she is older I know we will have dolls everywhere thats enough

OMG Rach! I sooo hear you!!!!
Tonight alone, my brother won Megan 4 stuffed animals out of that stupid crane game. He thought he was doing something nice but now I have spiderman, archie from the comics, betty boop and a green dinosaur sitting on my living room floor! I cant throw them out because he will wonder where they went. But its the LAST thing I need!!!!!
My best friend recently just got back from disney..shes obsessed with minnie and mickey...she brought back like 10 stuffed animals of them for Megan...first off I appreciate the thought but I do not like mice...even if it is minnie and mickey and I have no where to go with them!!!!!!!

There is no problem in telling people NO MORE! I remember my sister telling us that when my niece was small. I thought it was mean but, never bought her another one. that was 18 years ago!

we're almost all moms now in my family (one SIL left ) so we shop VERY efficiently and productively. we ask eachother what we need and thats that. nothing extra. but somehow we still have a ton of things we dont really need from Christmas (grandmas dont listen )
Rachel- I have a better one for you, how about a sweet darling MIL that takes tags off of things (that are sometimes too small or they have a billion of (for example spiderman shirts or PJs) she takes the tags off so I wont return them!  well I just gave my SIL some PJs for my nephew. (MIL only does this to a few things, but it makes me nuts, and I tell her, its HER money thats wasted, whats the point???)
Racheee- LMAOOOOO, Its no secret that Im not a Winnie fan either!! my husband laughs, he knows not to ever get anything winnie the pooh. I just never watched him growing up and have no relation to him whatsever... My mom got the boys Winnie PJs from Disney last year and I was like
