Re: I wish they would do this here
I cannot imagine how a size 0 equates to a 26 hip Seems off to me.
I have a 34 hip (dancer's butt) and a 24 waist...I'm a size 2 (though I was a 4 less than a decade ago before the size 0 craze took over - which I just graduated from, yay!).
Nevermind...I think what they're saying is that a TRUE size 0 is a 26 hip...and that the US size 0 should really be a 4.

I have narrow hips, so I don't think I would like to shop based upon that measurement

Re: I wish they would do this here
i think its good if its universal sizing but thats not going to stop the size 0 trend, as they put it, people will just try to fit into whatever is the smallest size available

Re: I wish they would do this here
i think it's a great idea to standardize sizing based on actual measurements. I have a hard time determining which is the best size for me... only thing I don't usually have a problem with is jeans, where it's always the same in every brand.

Re: I wish they would do this here
I am a little confused, by the pic, b/c size zero doesn't really exist in the UK, but then they say the person in the middle is a size 12 and that looks correct (as per UK sizing) in the pic.
Honestly, I hate the UK sizing system. It is bigger than it is. I don't mind the US system and why is the EU system in inches? Their system confuses me, b/c in some places it is in cm...
But I think, IMO, that standardising sizes like that is OK, but I wish they would take into consideration more areas (example- the waist) instead of just the hips. If they are going to standardise, why not go the whole nine yards, erm, metres....

Re: I wish they would do this here
It's so confusing even in Europe.
When I lived there. A 38 in France (about a size 4 here), would be actually a size 40 in "standard" European sizing.
Oh and... 14 being a 42 also varies by country. I know when I moved here (according to the "charts") I should have been a size 10. I was actually size 2-4 in misses and 5-7 in junior (hard to imagine I used to wear those sizes!!! )

I think all measurements, not just hip, would be included.
anway, I am curvy, so this would be a Godsend for me.
