I witnessed a horrible car accident today
I was driving east on the grand central
when I noticed this honda accord weaving in and out of the lanes
he cut me off- so I held back- everyone was trying to get out of his way
unfortunately a Jeep Grand Cheokee was not as lucky
he slamed into the back of the Jeep- sending it in the air - then it rolled over and took out a light pole like it was a pencil and stopped on it's roof
I stopped- I used my SOS button - since I was unsure of my exact location- I figured tele aid could get thru faster- the police were there in less then 3 minutes
the driver of the Honda tried to flee the scene
but then his car died- I can't imagine where he was going that he couldn't just drive normal- and why he would keep going- (I have some ideas)
I hope the driver of the Jeep is ok- but they were not awake when I left
I will never forget this- it was like watching a movie
 for the driver of that Jeep

thats awful. I hate those people who weave in and out of lanes like they own the road. I can never understand why they are in such a rush. And what a piece of $hit trying to leave the scene.

I can't believe the way some people drive! I am DISGUSTED that the driver had the audacity to try and leave the scene! I really hope the driver of the jeep is ok.
I've witnessed a very serious car accident similar to what you described, where the passenger was actually thrown OUT of the car and hit the pavement like a ton of bricks. This was about 9 years ago, and I can still see it perfectly in my mind.

yes- his car died about 20 feet from the jeep
and a couple of men made him stop and stay
I made sure to tell the cops he tried to leave

I have no tolerance for reckless drivers. What is it with people that makes them think that they are more important than everyone else on the road?

It's more thaan that they think they're more important--its that they think that they're so important that they can put others' lives at risk--actually kill people so that they can move through traffic. I feel the same way about smokers who expose others to their second hand smoke. It's so much more than self importance; it's deliberate indifference to the fact that at some point, people will actually DIE who wouldn't have if they hadn't crossed the a-hole's path.

I hope those people with reckless driving get a lot than just "accident" on their record.
I found those people just as criminals as drunk drivers. And the have full awareness. It's not like they are under the influence. They know exactly what they are doing.

IMO what I saw was criminal
I really hope he was arrested and I would have no probelm testifing against him in court
of course- he was uninjuried-
I would like to think he was on something- and that this wasn't his normal way of driving
to me an accident is something unavoidable
this was completely avoidable

Me too... I end up shaking the whole rest of the ride and think about it for weeks afterwards...

ugh, if you're going to drive like an a$s then take responsibility when you've almost killed someone due to your reckless driving. It's never the ones that drive like idiots that get hurt, they always hurt other innocent drivers on the road. It makes me so angry. I'm sorry you had to witness that and I'm even sorrier for the driver of the jeep
