I woke up screaming in the middle of the night from....
a terrible leg cramp....it was horrible and was like my toes and calf tightened up and I couldn't release it!!!

Ugh! That happened to me ONCE. I realized, don't ever point my toes. That brings them on at night.

OMG!!! I have had them for the past week every single night. They hurt sooooooooooooooo bad!!! It was so bad one night my whole calf was sore for 2 days afterwards!

I had those all last week. Eat a banana before you go to bed. The cramp/charlie horse could be from low potasium. Bananas help get rid of them. It's worked for me!

yeah, those are pretty hideous. Drinking enough water, and getting enough calcium and potassium appears to HELP, but nothing prevents them completely in my experience. (My OB confirmed that, and said there's nothing we can do to eliminate them altogether.)
I will say one thing, though. EVERY one I have experienced following stretching /yawning in bed. I've been trying to train myself to NOT stretch!!!!
I had one a couple weeks ago that was soooo potent that I walked with a limp for about 4 days afterwards 
definitely the worst pregnancy symptom so far.....

I used to have this quite often (pre-pregnancy), and yes woke up screaming in the middle of the night sounds about right.
So sorry you have to experience it, I feel your pain 
ETA: I think wearing high heels have something to do with it. I am in denial and still wear my heels.....

You poor thing! That happened to me one night too and I wanted to cry! My doctor said to make sure to stay hydrated and to eat a banana a day. It has helped me.

I had so many charly horses with DS it was crazy. I learned with DD that I had to drink a lot of water and I made sure not to over extend my leg. I feel for you. DH use to try and rub them out for me.

This has been happening to me very often lately. It's always my right leg calf. I try stretching in the morning right when I wake up and thats when it happens, it's sooo painful, I try and massage the spot and then it goes away after a minute. I have to stop trying to stretch thats what does it.

Oh wow! That is horrible! Try to drink lots of water, I've heard that is good for keeping cramps away. Hope that helps!

I had them a few times when I was pregnant with Benjamin. The bananas worked as did doing some calf stretches before bed. I'm sorry sweetie.
