I wrote to IKEA to ask about lead in their toys...
... and this is the response they gave me. Am I the only one that didn't know that lead was actually allowed in toys as long as it didn't exceed certain levels?
________________________________Thank you for your continued interest in IKEA. We appreciate that you have taken the time to contact us. All our toys are regularly tested by accredited independent 3rd party laboratories. The toys comply in full with the relevant safety standards for these products and are safe to use. This means that the amount of lead in our toys shall always be less than 90 mg/kg measured in accessible lead and less than 100 mg/kg measured in total amount of lead. All our toys are tested to and comply with requirements on lead in the following laws and standards: EN 71-3 (Europe), 16 CFR and ASTM F963 (U.S.A), Hazardous Products Act (Canada), GB 6675 (China). The same requirements apply regardless of where the toys are made and where they are to be sold.

I did know that, but toys are one of the industries DH covers for work so he tells me a lot of this stuff.
