Ice Cream Maker
Does anyone have one? If so what brand? Size? Are they simple to use?

Re: Ice Cream Maker
I think mine is Cuisinart and it's easy to use (the once in a blue moon that I drag it up from the basement!).

Re: Ice Cream Maker
I saw an ice cream maker for $40 for a Cuisenart... I was wondering if it's worth the $40. Keep in mind I have 3 kid and a DH who would eat ice cream for every meal if I let him.

Re: Ice Cream Maker
We have a cuisinart one. We bought it to make ice cream with the kids. We've used it once. I would use it more, but it is so much easier to go to the supermarket and buy it already made!

Re: Ice Cream Maker
I have 2.
The first one I got about 4 years ago. Used it a few times. It's a pain because you have to cook some stuff, then put it in the fridge, then in the mixer when it's ready. And he base thing has to go in the freezer overnght. Honestly feels like forever just to get some ice cream.
The second one we got was on a whim. We were in BBB and had a coupon of course. DH saw and said oh how cool. It actually was really cool. It's a cuisinart.
It's a Cuisinart Mix It In Soft Serve Ice Cream Maker.
Here's the description from BBB Professional quality soft ice cream, yogurt, sorbet and sherbet can now be made right at home instantly. This fully automatic machine makes it effortless - you simply turn the dial and add ingredients to the pre-chilled 1 1/2-quart freezer bowl. Results are parlor perfect ice cream that is consistently smooth and delicious in as little as 20 minutes. Nonskid feet keep the unit from moving during operation. Three condiment dispensers let you add sprinkles, chocolate chips and other favorite mix-ins to your frozen desserts by simply pulling on the tabs. A built-in cone holder holds waffle or sugar cones that are waiting to be filled. Parts are easy to remove and wash clean in minutes. Instructions and recipe book included.
I have used this twice. I made vanilla ice cream but I should have used my gut on the recipe with the vanilla extract. I put in exactly what the recipe called for and I should have put in less knowing vanilla is strong.
and I made sherbert. I did the same thing. I put the exact amount of vanilla and I should have put less.
Now it's in it's box in the garage and the ice cream maker thing is taking up space in my freezer

Re: Ice Cream Maker
I am a huge ice cream lover and I have a cuisinart...I've used it about 4 times in the last 3 years!! It works well, but its just a lot more work than going out and picking up some ice cream from the store!

This is the one I wanted to get but DH's friend bought us a regular one from Cusinart.
