ice cream shoppe party...
is it bad that its not even DD 2nd birthday and im thinking of what to do for her 3rd since we are TTC i figured i might as well get ideas now since hopefully next february ill have a nb. I was looking at reviews of the ice cream shoppe in smithtown and they were all great...there has to be some negatives?? I also just found the favors and invites i want...im tempted to buy them while they are on sale!
If you been to/had a party there what did you love?/not like?

Re: ice cream shoppe party...
We had Jordan's party there when she was 6 and we had a good experince. She loved it and I did too. I did do my own favors instead of using theres because I got alot more for the $. I would recommend them!

my SIL had my niece and nephew's party there. they played music and had games like limbo, hula hoops, etc. it was only for about an hour. they darkened the lights and had DJ like music going. For me, i thought it was way too loud. the twins were 3 and i thought it was a bit loud for them. he spent the whole time outside because he couldn't take the noise, but his sister loved it.
the ice-cream part was cute where they made their own sundae. i think we ate pizza too--i can't remember.
but overall for what she paid, i didn't think it was worth it. you could do the same thing at home for a fraction of the price. all it was was a different location. nothing that was done there was anything that you couldn't do yourself. (also, know that i am pretty much anti-spending hundreds on a birthday party for a little kid, so that's skewing my opinion a little, i think!

Re: ice cream shoppe party...
Yes they do dancing and games, they play with the paracute, do limbo, freeze dance etc. I got the same ice cream bowls and spoons they used for favors and personalized them myself and filled them with goodies for waaaay less.

Re: ice cream shoppe party...
I had my dd's party there in November. The party overall was fantastic but they definitely had some flaws whereas I have had parties at other places and they were flawless. The number one issue I had was the items they let the kids play with. This is their venue so IMO they need to take care of the items. They gave my dd and her friends broken up hula hoops to play with that really had me on edge until they thankfully were done. Thats a big no no IMO. So if you can skip the hoops...skip them. I thought the room was pretty hot but we did have alot of kids and adults. Aside from the above it really was alot of fun. The favors are a big rip off. I bought ice cream sundae dishes and filled them with hershey kisses and cellophaned and ribboned them. I also got taken for the pizzas and the cake. 35 bucks for a cr@ppy ice cream cake bc I wanted a cake there and they only allowed there place. and the pizzas were 15 bucks a piece for the adults I had 6 pies. My bill was relatively alot higher then avg I am sure. In hindsight, for us and the amount of people involved, we would have been better off with a different place but like I said it was alot of fun overall.
