Ice Cream Shoppe, Smithtown
We are thinking of having DD's 4th bday there. My friend who went to a party there said the ice cream was served in dixie cups....we thought that being an old fashioned ice cream parlor that it would be a nicer presentation, like in a fountain glass. Anyone been to a recent party there? Thanks!

Yes and their presentation is just like your friend described. While you are in the other room (dance/pizza) they will ask the kids line up here for chocolate, line up here for vanilla. Once you enter the other room they hand out the ice cream in foam cups sprinkles in jars on the counter and that's it.

When we were invited to a party there I thought it would be "make your own sundae" kind of thing but it was not. Just little dixie cups that were pre-made. They did some cute activities with the kids in the party room but it was not really like an Old Fashioned Ice Cream Palor theme or anything, if that's what you are wondering. It was ok, but not what I thought.

Yeah, it's not what I thought either. I am sort of on the fence with it....

Re: Ice Cream Shoppe, Smithtown
We had a party there. I wasn't crazy about it. The kids had fun though.
My biggest issue is that my son, the birthday boy, asked for more ice cream; they said no. He doesn't eat pizza, so he only had juice and water, patiently awaiting the dessert. I was upset with that. One more scoop of ice cream wouldn't throw off profits. They didn't get tips.
