Iceland?

I have always wanted to go there - it jsut seems so different and exciting, but I don't know how much there is to do there, other than the hotsprings/natural spa. How long is long enough to have a nice, but not too drawn out trip to Iceland?

Re: Iceland?

that is so funny!!! I was going to ask yesterday if anyone had been because DH is dying to go. It was on the Travel channel the other night and looked amazing. DH went to a travel agent and found a super cheap 3 day package deal. So that is on our must do list

Re: Iceland?

Thank you Janice!

I actually wanted to go there for our HM, but DH talked me out of it. We are going to London & Dublin this spring & I will *try* to coordinate so that we can go to Iceland either on the way there or back for a few days. DH hates to fly, so it is best I think to do them all together.

It looks so cool. I also saw a segment on Oprah once and it was really clean. DH wants to go white water rafting there

Re: Iceland?

it is definately on the expensive side. I went about 5 years ago and was able to stay on the military base with my brother, so that really cut the cost. My fh and I were actually looking to go back next summer and the prices for the flight are about $2,000 RT p/p Chat Icon and the hotels are about 350 per night Chat Icon but there are definately cheaper ways to go, depends on what you are looking to do and when you want to go. This is a great website to check things out
Iceland you can get a free dvd from them but i warn you once you watch it you are only gonna want to go more. It was just so beautiful and pure.

be forewarned it smells like rotten eggs because of the geotherms and sulfur springs. you get used to it after a while but it is real bad at first.
