IcyHot

I have horrible back neck and shoulder pain- I suffered for 6 days before calling the doctor as it's getting worse not better. It started as a small spot in my back and spread up and down my whole right side and I get shooting pain in my arm. The OB said to try icy hot. I did last night and it helped dull the pain a bit. I'll take any relief.
Did anyone use icy hot when pregnant? I trust my doctor but then I read all these conflicting things online. Anyone else deal with a pinched nerve during pregnancy? How did you manage the pain?

I avoided icy hot because of what I read online.

See my doctor said it's safe, I used it because I'm beside myself and THEN I read online. Now I'm freaking out and regretting it and I'm still in horrible pain

I know nothing about icy hot but can you try a massage for your pain?

Yeah I actually got a prenatal massage a few weeks ago. The place I go to has no appointments for a prenatal until next week but I still made the appointment. I'm nervous to try a massage elsewhere

I went to a chriro to just have them massage the area and use the ultrasound therapy on it. I know I asked them to use the ultrasound gel without menthol or whatever, but that was because I was also breastfeeding at that time.
I think the massage was the best thing for it.

I used it one time and then read on the package that it wasn't recommended for pregnant people so I washed it off.

Re: IcyHot

I would see a chiropractor...many of them specialize in pregnancy.

Massage or chiropractor. But honestly I trust my doctor over anything I read online. They wouldn't tell you to use it if it was a true risk. Alternatively you could apply ice and heat compress to the area.

I may try a heating pad or warm bath. The pain is causing numbness in my arm and leg now. I can't take it anymore. And of coarse the babies haven't been moving as much today so that's scaring me even more. I called my office waiting for a call back

It sounds a lot like what I had. I don't even know how I did it. Kept trying stretching and heat and really nothing helped until I went to the Chiro. I hope you can get some relief soon.

This all started the day after I had my CPR recert at work that they refused to let me modify or take when I get back from leave. I have an ice pack on now then I'm going to do a warm bath
