Ideas for cleaning a 6-panel pine door that is both stained and polyurethaned?

I'm re-doing my bathroom, see other post! My DH has spent a year and a day on all the interior doors of the house. We have all 6-panel pine doors that he stained and polyurethaned (he did so to avoid the swelling of the doors in the heat, but it didn't really work Chat Icon ).

Anyway, the door to the main bathroom is speckled with spray remnants from my hair product use Chat Icon like hair spray, spray gel, etc.. Plus I am sure it gets it fair share of air freshener spray. So now when you look at the door, it's coated in dots of these sprays. I want to remove it, and I attempted using Murphy's Oil soap and it didn't work. I so badly want to use a Magic Erasure, but I learned the hard way it will strip off the polyurethane coating.

How do I get hairspray off my door to make it look new again!? Any help is appreciated!

soap and water

Chat Icon should have mentioned I have tried it all, even OxyClean! Short of stripping the polyurethane off, I just can't figure out how to get this mess off my door!

Lisa, I will try the polish, I'm just nervous since the bathroom gets very humid and steamy!

Simple Green--we had the same issue with the door in our bathroom and it ate the hairspray right off.

ETA: We have 6 panel white painted doors Chat Icon
