ideas for how to announce pregnancy to parents, if they are already grandparents?
everything ive seen/read is super cute especially for first time grandparents. DH and I were shopping this weekend and saw a cute mug that said "world greatest grandpa," which had us thinking of whether we should get it or not. But then we thought that he wouldnt really make the connection, since he is already a grandpa.
any ideas for announcing when you arent carrying the first grandchild in your family?

I called my mom right away, which is strange because we have a bit of an odd relationship but I just had an urge to call my mommy. I told her and she goes 'was it planned?' Oy.
I went home to visit when I was almost 6 weeks and I brought a digital test that said pregnant in a little baggie That's how I told my sister, and then my dad. I gave them the little baggie and waited for them to figure it out.
My parents are already grandparents and my sister is already an auntie (as am I) so this was the best I could come up with.

My sister has 2 kids so when we announced to my parents (on Easter) We made little easter eggs with hershey kisses. On the bottom of the kisses we had little sticker labels that said "Grandchild #3, coming this fall" with a little picture of a baby onesie.

For my parents this was the first grandchild but for my inlaws this was the second. For our bridal shower we got wine bottles and each bottle had a label stating what occasion to open the bottle. We had out inlaws over and handed my FIL the bottle and told him to read it. It took a couple minutes for him to realize and we had to explain it to him a little bit (it was a poem about having a baby and how we were to open it to celebrate but only daddy could drink it). It was creative, I just wish FIL would have grasped the obvious!

We put two little bibs in gift bags -- one said I love Grandpa and the other said I love Grandma. Both my parents and IL's already have one grandchild each by our siblings: my brother, DH's sister. They got it right away - it was very nice.

For DS #1 we bought this frame and put the very first sonogram (the bean picture) in it for them: http://www.decoruniverse.com/products/view.aspx?sku=9772071&af=1528&cse=1528&gclid=CJGa5NDRoLgCFYyY4AodlHEA-w&gclsrc=aw.ds
For this we had DS wear a shirt that said he was going to be a Big Brother. He wore it to their houses on Mother's Day.

My IL's have 3 GC's already. I want to put the sono pic in a card or something and have the card say, "We know you have three of these already, but we thought you'd like another" or something like that. I haven't really thought it through yet.

Re: ideas for how to announce pregnancy to parents, if they are already grandparents?
With DD#1, it was the first grandchild for my parents, but not DH's. We told them both the same way. I had an album of all these fun pictures we took on some vacation we went to a few months earlier. I gave them the album set up just a couple pages before a few pictures of the positive pregnancy test and first sonogram. It was sooo much fun! Such a surprise for all of them when they turned the page and saw that.
This time around, I'm telling my family when I fly home next month. I figure I'll put DD in some kind of "Big Sister to be" shirt (which I'll need to order soon) and they'll see it when we get off the airplane. For in-laws, maybe DD will wear the same shirt to our labor day BBQ if we have one. Otherwise i'll do it another way. I haven't thought that far yet. lol.
