Ideas for Valentines Day dinner that DH and I can cook together
I thought since V-day was a Sunday, it would be fun to cook together and make something special, since this is our last V-day before baby.
Calories and fat are not a problem-I am going to be 37 weeks preggo that day and I want to enjoy things I won't normally eat not preggo when I watch my weight.
We love cheese, butter, meat, cream.
I will not eat fish. Shrimp and lobster are good, no real fish though.
I have somewhat of a poultry aversion unless it is covered in hot sauce. Same with pork.
Any ideas?

I would steam up some lobsters and grill up some filet and make surf & turf.

That's a really good idea-what would you do for sides?

I think it's SO fun to make pasta together! Do you have the kitchenaid mixer? You can get a pasta maker attachement and it's so easy.
Or if you have a different kind of pasta maker that's fine too.
Steve and I love to make pasta together... or even ravioli!
You can do a simple mixed greens salad with goat cheese or bleu cheese or gorgonzola, some candied walnuts, dried cranberries, and whatever else.
I'd do fresh pasta in a very light sauce - you want to highlight the pasta, KWIM?
And maybe some yummy garlic bread or a parmesan baguette on the side.
And dessert possibilities are endless!

Thanks Hayley-no pasta maker or mixer. That is waaaay too advanced for me LOL!
I am definitely making those cannoli cupcakes!

Hmm...
so you want something that will be hands-on for both of you, right?

Yes-but we can make different things. I can't be on my feet for long periods so Jeff can take over-KWIM?
