Ideas needed for a joint holiday card/baby announcement...
I'm due December 7, so I figured my holiday card could also be the baby announcement. Does anyone have any examples to share or suggestions for text? I plan to include a picture of my older daughter as well...
(I know it seems far away, but I want to have this also set up before the baby comes!)

Re: Ideas needed for a joint holiday card/baby announcement...
My dd was born November 18th so I did a combo card. I had a really cute poem. It was a large note card. I made it sound like my ds and dog were announcing the news. I tweeked the original poem to fit for us.
On the front cover the poem was:
T'was the night before Christams and all through the house were blanket, bibs and diapers it's quite a mad house!
Mommy and Daddy are exhausted but elated it's true For it's the first Christmas with Guess who???
Inside the cover I had:
We'd like to introduce our new baby sister and then put in all the stats with a nice Christmas Wish.

Thanks for the suggestions. This would be so much easier if we celebrated Christmas!

Re: Ideas needed for a joint holiday card/baby announcement...
I'm still struggling with how to include the older sibling. The examples from inababycarriage.com are gorgeous for layout, but they are either holiday cards for whole families, or announcements of a single baby... and I can't figure out wording.
My husband is against anything like "Big Sister wants to introduce you to..." His favorite baby announcements have nothing but the name and stats on them.
So how do I have big sister's picture, and a new baby picture without wording that is too cutesy?
What about putting "Happy Holidays from Our Family" next to big sis, and then "Introducing" with the new baby picture and stats?

Or if its a 5x7 with writing inside, do I just do pictures of both on the front, and put the stats inside?

What if you did a family pic for the holiday card and then a separate birth announcement in the same envelope? I like individual birth announements of babies, but a lot of that probably stems from the fact that my parents pretty much only took pics of my brother and I together.

Hmmmm...last year I put a picture of my DD holding a wrapped present on the front of the card and it said "Christmas Came Early This Year"...maybe you can say "The Holidays Came Early This Year"...then on the inside I put a picture of my DS with just his name, DOB and stats. And the last line said Happy Holidays Love The Cooke Family.
