Ideas of things to do w/DD (16mos)

Am going to be off next week and am keeping DD home from daycare for a few days. What are some ideas of places I can bring her/things to do? I was thinking the riverhead aquarium, (or along those lines) but I also know she will want to run around and won't really grasp anything she actually sees (which is FINE). Anyway, just looking for some ideas along those lines for places to go next week with her?

You should check out your local library. Lots of them have story time a day or 2 during the week. Barnes and Noble in Huntington has story time. I have never gone but mommies on here are always talking about how great it is (not sure of the day and time but you can check it out on their website).

Some malls have a play area (I know Broadway and Sunrise do). You could pay to go to an open play at Gymboree. Once Upon a Treetop in Plainview is fun. I think it's $12 per child but you can stay as long as you want....bring lunch or snacks...hang out most of the day if you want.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
