Ideas on this countertop and backsplash combination?
What does everyone think of this backsplash and granite countertop combination? The pictures were taken with my phone at the store (separate stores) so you will have to use your imagination to see the combination.

Ideas on this countertop and backsplash combination?
It might just be me, but I think the combo looks a little "busy" -- the counter has a lot of swirls/movement and all the back splash tiles look like they are different colored stone. I really like the granite, but would likely choose a simpler back splash. While I LOVE the idea of a decorative back splash, since our granite is similar in movement, I opted for plain tile with a decorate runner. We just bought really nice 2 x 2 travertine tile in a cream color and are doing a 3 inch glass mosaic tile for the runner. Hope that helps!

I have the stone you picked as the backsplash on the hearth of our pellet stove. It is very grey-blue when installed, we used a brown grout. I think something less busy would be better with that granite.

I agree. I think the combo looks a bit too busy. I would either go with a white marble countertop or plain black granite with that backsplash. Alternately, like a PP said, I would stay with that granite and go with a simple backsplash.

We wanted something similar at first thing. As the above poster said, we went white quartz and had a fancy patteren back splash. I think had the store not have our counter top when we went to order we would of hated the intent.

Beautiful materials but together they compete. A stone that is less veiny or a solid color for countertop may work better OR a more suttle back splash with bigger tiles...a sold pattern.

This is the cabinet and backsplash look I like. I guess I should pick a lighter backsplash and countertop to look more like this one maybe?
