If Alimentum didn't work for your baby
what did you switch to?
Andy's been on Alimentum for 2 weeks now and we still have bloody mucus every couple of days. We have to take samples every other day for another week before they make any decisions, but I was just wondering what's next if this really isn't work.
Oh, and if Alimentum didn't work, did your child have other food allergies? Thanks!

DS was put on Neocate after nothing else worked, he has done wonderful on it and they plan to continue it until a year old when they try to switch to milk. DS eats everything else and has no problems.

we went straight from BF to Nutramigen but the Dr. said it could take 'a few weeks' for his intestines to heal. He still had bloody mucous at 2 weeks after switching but it wasnt as prevalent and he was clearly way more comfortable. I'd give it another week or so for him to heal completely.

we switched hannah onto elecare after using nutramigen. she was having bloody poops and diarrhea. after switching it took about 2 weeks for it to stop.

Alimentum did not work for us because it is still cow's milk based and Ava has a milk protein allergy. She also has a soy allergy. We currently use Neocate.
