If anyone is on...quick formula ?...need help
I think my son is colicky. Does anyone know which Good Start formula is best for that?
I tried Nutramigen this morning and he absolutely hated it.

I hjave heard good things about Good Start, but am not sure if it helps with colic. If I am not mistaken it is broken down more than any other formula so maybe it will help. Good Luck

Re: If anyone is on...quick formula ?...need help
We had major issues with DD. I never used the word colic to describe her but other people did. But in our case it was gas which really meant allergies.
We started with Similac Advance, switched to Enfamil Lactose Free (lots of gas, low tolerance for dairy), switched to Good Start Soy (which she took easily but caused even more problems) and finally we're on Similac Alimentum.

I know Enfamil has Gentlease and Similac has Sensitive, both have little lactose and are supposed to help with gas issues. Not sure what Good Start's lactose free formula is called, but they must have one.
We switched DS to Similac Sensitive, and it really helped with his gas and poop problems. He didn't have a true milk allergy (you would see vomiting or diarrhea or rashes with that). Though I must say, he still had colic, he just didn't strain to poop or fart anymore. Went away around 4 months. In his case, I think he gets overly stimulated easily. Keeping him a quiet, calm space in the evenings seemed to help. Sorry you are going through this.

Dawn call the PED before you do switching..

Yes, but my DS was on Gentlease and my ped said that we could use Nutramigen in a pinch (aka he gave me samples).
And honestly, if the doctor said switch one day isn't going to make a difference, Christopher HATED the Gentlease at first, but it made his gas issues SO much better, but it took about 10 days.

Call your Ped. It is best not to keep switching formula often before talking to the Ped. DC has to get used to it too.

That's true--it was at least a week before we saw any difference with DS, and his doctor said give it 2 weeks.
And I agree with Theresa, talk to your doctor and keep him in the loop before switching.
