If he keeps choking on the formula and sptting up because he is gulping too fast...
should I change the nipple size?
TIA

This was our problem last week. I switched bottles and it's MUCH better!

Be careful with the preemie nipples because most of them actually have a faster flow because preemie babies have immature suk reflexes and need an easier nipple to drink from.

Be careful with the preemie nipples because most of them actually have a faster flow because preemie babies have immature suk reflexes and need an easier nipple to drink from. that's what i thought as well, but the nurse suggested i give it a try . since it worked for me, i didn't compare it to the level 1, maybe i should? on the dr bown's scale, premie comes before level 1 so i thought it may be a slower flow...do you know if that is true?
Well, I'm going by my mom, she's an infant feeding specialist, so I assume she knows what she's talking about, however, she did say every brand has their own scale. There's no real consistency. She just said on average the preemies flow faster.

My DD is 6months anfd we still use level 1 because everytime I go up she chokes and pukes from the flow so Im fine on level 1.. We just also started to give formula exclusively so she is really just getting used to bottle full time she was only gettimg one a day before this when I went to work..
