If I had known then what I know now...
I was thinking this weekend about all the stuff that DS has that has totally consumed my small apartment and cost me a fortune. Then I started thinking "If I had known while I was preggo, I would not have gotten..."
Here is my list:
Swing - I would have gotten a small travel swing. Now, at 3 months, DS is just not that into it. He never really LOVED it to begin with. Plus, it takes up soooo much room! He also has a swing at my moms and we could have saved over 100 bucks if I just got the travel one and brought that one with me to moms.
Bouncer - He has a bouncer for my mom's house, and while he tolerates it, he is not totally in love with it. He much prefers his FP infant toddler rocker.
Crib set - I should have just got breathable bumpers and a bunch of sheets. I still could have done my theme without spending almost $300 on bedding that he really doesn't need.
Infant car seat - maybe it's just becuase DS is born in the winter and we don't get out as much as we would like, I should have just gotten convertable car seats instead of the infant seat. It takes up a lot of room when it is not in use and he is almost growing out of it already.
Jeans, outfits and overalls - I bought him LOTS of jeans and overalls from Gymboree and now I really regret it. I should have just gotten a bunch of sweat pants, courderoy pants and shirts. He's just not that comfy in jeans or overalls, not to mention they all have themes on them and are not as versitile as I would like. They are all basically "outfits" that go together and you can't mix and match.
Rockin' baby sling - this sling was pretty expensive ($75) and I never used it. I use the baby bjorn when we go out. I'm hoping I will get some of my money's worth when he gets older and I can use it as support when carrying him on my hip.
What are some things that you got that you now regret?

Re: If I had known then what I know now...
I have my 3rd child now so I am all done with the "if I had knowns". I corrected all the things I did "wrong" with Emma with Jeremy and have perfected them now with Lucas
I have 5 slings/wraps. No Baby Bjorns
I have a travel swing. I gave my older one to my mom.
I have the infant carrier frame for a stroller. NO bulky stroller
I have umbrella strollers in my car. I keep the double for major outings in the attic.
I don't worry as much...

Re: If I had known then what I know now...
I agree with you with pretty much all you posted with the clothes, crib set, swing-thank god i got a hand me down, i used it 6 times maybe.
She loved her jumperoo, but know it just sits in my living room-she's too busy walking and crawling
I wouldn't have gotten a PNP and a travel crib, i hardly used either of them after she was 2 months old.
I def wouldn't have gotten a TRavel system! so heavy and bulky!
I regret my bundle me, dd used it twice and hated it in her face, 40 bucks wasted
I do though cannot live without my bouncy seats, infant carrier, exersaucer, mobile, graco stroller frame, floppy seat and travel booster seat, and her activity mat.

Re: If I had known then what I know now...
It's funny how different things work for different people/babies. DS is only 3 months old but so far:
I LOVE and cannot live without:
Swing - it's the only place he sleeps during the day (although he didn't like it the first month)
Bundle Me - since it's the winter it is so much easier to use this than to bulk him up with so many layers and blankets - he barely fits in the car seat now!
Glider/Rocker- we eat, sleep, and play in this and have since day one
I wasted money on/never used:
Pack and Play - maybe he's still too young for it but he hates it
Baby Bjorn - I know tons of people swear by this and it works for them but I always felt so uncomfortable in it and DS doesn't love it
One piece snowsuit things - too hot and the baby won't fit in the car seat when it is on

Re: If I had known then what I know now...
Totally agree with you regarding the crib set. Mine was around $170 for each boy and the only thing we use is the diaper holder, curtains and sheet.
I would not spend as much money for nice outfits to go out in. My boys live in onsies and sweatpants/tops. Especially with the weather being cold we rarely go anywhere to dress them up.
One piece snowsuits are a waste too. Never used it and the only thought i would use it was to place baby in the first snow of the season (and that has not happened yet!).

I only agree with the crib set. Total waste of $$$.
Everything else Andrew loved and was totally worth it

Re: If I had known then what I know now...
I agree with lots of those things. Swing...wasn't into it Bedding...didn't buy any, think its a total waste of money Jeans...so stiff and hard to change the baby while they are wearing!
But there were LOTS of things that I bought that were fantastic... like..My Bugaboo Frog, still use it all the time and still love it My Maxi Cosi Cabrio car seat...it was great and fit right on my bug Overalls, I loved my Noah in overalls...thats mostly what he wore! I loved him in those....
