If it's raining on Halloween

will you allow your DS to go TOTing?

If it's a light rain I might but only with my 9 yr old. If it's pouring then I am looking into taking them somewhere indoors on halloween.

No, I will not. But-- they are already attending a party in their costumes this week, then they get to wear their costumes to school on the day of Halloween and will have classroom parties. Last year we had the same events happening and by the time trick-or-treating came around, it wasn't even a huge deal to them.

No, we'll go to one of the indoor Halloween events. We have done so many Halloween things as it is, and have more scheduled to do this weekend, that I really wouldn't feel like we are "missing out".

Re: If it's raining on Halloween

Depends. If DH is home and DS wants to, yes.

If DH isn't home, no b/c I won't take DD (who'll be 1 month on Sun) out in rain if I don't HAVE to.

Absolutely.

Of course one of my kids has a costume that is made of bubble wrap so I'm pretty sure he's about as safe as can be.Chat Icon

Yup, thats what umbrellas are for. It may make it a shorter trick or treating day but we will still take them out.

Nope. We only TOT at a few houses for the experience, DS is very allergic to peanut so I don't allow any of the candy in the house for fear of cross contamination. It gets bagged & boxed in the driveway and mailed to the troops.

If we could TOT like normal people we'd go in the rain.

Re: If it's raining on Halloween

We are going to a party with the kids in the afternoon/evening after school. We will hit a few houses though regardless with a big umbrella just so the kids don't feel they missed out!

Okay.. what is J going to be?

Noah wants to be a BOX. Not a fancy box, not a box of anything in particular.. just a BOX. I'm like "WHY?" He's like "Because it's HILARIOUS! People will ask what I am and I get to say 'a box..duh'!"

I will describe his costume & you all can guess.

He will be wrapping himself in bubble wrap with "Fragile" & "Handle With Care" stickers stuck on. He will be wearing a helmet, safety goggles, a bright orange safety vest, elbow pads, shin guards, knee pads, a belt with Purell clipped to it. Possibly rubber gloves too.

I don't think so. DD#1 is a big whimp, and will do nothing but complain the whole time! I'll take them to the high school where they're having a TOTing event there.

Re: If it's raining on Halloween

My kids are at a halloween dress up/birthday party today. DH took them since I am stuck here with my torn acl/mcl. If the weather is bad, I will hide candy around my house and let them have a scavenger hunt. DS school also has an in school carnival and dress up parade on Wednesday. If the weather is really bad or there is a state of emergency, then unfortunately we will not be able to TOT.
