Only 7lbs??? Are you kidding? Well, back in the day they were encouraged to gain like nothing because it's hard to look waifish, cook and clean and be like leave it to beaver with a big belly.

Re: If my MIL tells me one more time...
Just remind her that doctors recommend that average weight women gain between 25 and 35 pounds. Unless she was over-weight 7 lbs sounds really unhealthy.

Show her the following from the American Pregnancy Association:
?Weight Distribution:
7 1/2pounds is about how much the baby will weigh by the end of pregnancy 1 1/2pounds is how much the placenta weighs 4 pounds is attributed to increased fluid volume 2 pounds is the weight of the uterus 2 pounds is the weight of breast tissue 4 pounds is because of increased blood volume 7 pounds is attributed to maternal stores of fat, protein and other nutrients 2 pounds for the amniotic fluid
Total: 30 pounds

I say you tell her you haven't gained anything. Even at the end of your pregnancy. What's she gonna do? Weigh you? I hate people sometimes.

Good one!
Tell her bette ryet...were you overweight then, cause Overweight to begin with should gain less weight. I dont have to worry about that...LOL...that should put her in her place!

aww I totally feel your pain my grandma came with me so she could watch my son at the last doc appt and actuatly asked the nurse how much i weigh the nurse didnt answer her and then she was like well how much weight has she gained and the nurse was like well she lost a pound and weighs 21 pounds which at 8 months is really good. grr why do people have to be all nosy and in our business its our bodies. I was humiliated.
