If my walls are green, does the bedding HAVE to have some green in it? (sorry - long!)
DH put his foot down and said we are not painting the nursery. We had it painted 2 years ago so he feels its a waste do to it over. It's a battle I am willing not to fight, so green walls it is.
The room is BM Prescott Green - Swatch and what it looks like in my now Guest room.
Originally, I really liked Isabella bedding from Glenna Jean, but after seeing it in person, the green is really different and I am not sure it will look good.
Then, I found this other bedding that I love (before I found out I wasn't allowed to paint ) , but I don't think the green walls will look good. (I know, it's a TOTALLY different style)... It won't look good, right?
Ugh...

It is hard to tell, but they might not look bad together. The green you have is very subtle, so it might work. The swatch almost looks tan so if it is more tan than green then it will definitely work.

I agree that the green is very subtle. I think the first set would look pretty!

Is there a way that you can buy it and then return it if you don't like it? lol .. Its hard to tell from the pictures because honestly it might look cute, since pink and green go together, but I'm not sure.
Also where did you find that bedding, I love it, incase we are having a girl lol.

Re: If my walls are green, does the bedding HAVE to have some green in it? (sorry - long!)
We painted our nursery an "avocado" green and the green in the bedding doesn't match per se, but it works with the bedding. Pics are in my "Baby Stuff" album if you want to see what I mean.
Colors don't necessarily have to "match"... just as long as they work with the color family, you'll be fine! I think what you have is very pretty and works well with your bedding you chose.

I have a feeling I am going to be buying and returning a lot!
The first set is from Glenna Jean. They also have a set called Madison that is very similar. Actually a few different ones that are similar.

Re: If my walls are green, does the bedding HAVE to have some green in it? (sorry - long!)
DD has that bedding, and her walls are green, and its not an exact match. I think it looks really pretty-I'm not sure if you plan on using the quilt that comes, but we only used the bumper and curtain (which doesn't even have green in it) so its really not noticeable at all. Oh and I have the throw pillow too. The crib skirt I used until I had to lower the crib all the way. Good Luck, hope that helped!

I think it will look good. Green is kind of a neutral so it definitely wont look bad or anything. Would you be "allowed" to have an accent wall where the crib will be? That might make you feel better and change the whole look of the room...only if you want to. Otherwise I think its very cute and doable with what youre working with.

I think green with pink always looks nice. But if you really just want the nursery painted, just cry...that usually gets me what I want

I love pink and green. and you can always add a pink border to the wall or decals to tie it all together.

I actually have green in DD's room and her bedding is white with light and dark pink accents as are the drapes and lamp shades. I was too lazy to paint and I think it looks nice.

Re: If my walls are green, does the bedding HAVE to have some green in it? (sorry - long!)
I've always thought green and pink went well together, especially a sage-like green.
If you want everything to work together better, try adding some pink to the walls with either wood or vinyl lettering, borders or picture frames. Then add some green to the bedding by finding a cute throw blanket or pillow or even a stuffed animal in the same green.
Or, find REALLY REALLY REALLY expensive bedding, and tell hubby thats the one you MUST get if the walls are to stay green. Then convince him how much more cost effective it would be to just paint the walls

Re: If my walls are green, does the bedding HAVE to have some green in it? (sorry - long!)
Thanks ladies - if I go with that bedding I won't be getting the quilt so the the green will be less obvious and they actually do have a coordinating border, so I may do that too!
You can see the border and valance in this pic:

I think that green is so subtle that you could totally do that bedding especially if there's no quilt. I love it!

Re: If my walls are green, does the bedding HAVE to have some green in it? (sorry - long!)
I think the first set (the glenna Jean) will go fine with the wall color...but, I haven't seen it in person. The second set - is that Serena and Lily? If so, I've seen that set in Bellini and the coloring looks different in person and don't think that would work as well with that wall color BUT, it's a beautiful set and I think it is on sale now!

Yes, it is S&L, but I think it's out of the running! If I was painting, I'd do that one. Thanks!!

Re: If my walls are green, does the bedding HAVE to have some green in it? (sorry - long!)
I think pink and green go together nicely and they don't have to be matchy matchy. I also like that with pink bedding the green makes it softer and not so in your face girl. My wedding colors were pink and green and it looked awsome together. I would do the pink set w/o the green because matching colors is rough. I also think if the greens don't match it would look weird. Not many people would notice, but you would and I fear it would bug you everytime you walked in and make you resent the not painting even more
