if someone erased my internet history...
Is there a way to get it back?
Someone deleted all my web history -- so if I use the pull down bar at the top, the last visited web sites don't show up. Is there a way to recover this?
I want to know what web site was so offending that they felt the need to delete all the history.

I dont know if there is a way to get it back, but the purpose probably wasnt because you were offending anyone. It slows down a computer when there are too many temporary internet files and a long history trail. That's why I delete mine anyway. Maybe if they just deleted this history and not the temp files you can find them?

Who else is on your computer? It could also be a setting in your browser to automatically delete your history and temp files when you exit the browser.

Nope - definitely someone else. I know who did it.

I wasnt sure if this happened at work or at home. At work, there was some talk that shopping sites with lingerie were "offensive" to some people and so they blocked them I think the offending site was something like Macy's or something, ridiculous. Glad you figured out your problem though!

Re: if someone erased my internet history...
You could try a system restore (start, accessories, system tools, system restore) to a date before the history was erased...this is only really looking for windows critical files and program installs.
its worth a shot...

That definitely won't work. It only restores Windows files, not files you've created.
There's really no way of getting those back. It's a recommended practice if you're on a machine that other people use, so they can't see where you were surfing..... (usually for library computers, kiosks, etc.)
Did they delete the cookies? If not, there's a slight chance that the site in question put a cookie on the computer, and you can figure out the site from that...
C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Cookies. Sort it by date, and you may be able to figure it out. Not always, but it's worth a shot. (A lot of ads on innocent pages leave cookies, so a "questionable" cookie doesn't automatically assign guilt....)
