I use to get my hair done by the owner of a salon in Manhattan. I would always offer him a tip at the end but he would always turn it down.
Now I go to a salon in Merrick and the owner does my hair as well. I always offer her a tip at the end and she takes it every time.
I would always offer it but just be prepared for them to take it.

I don't. His "tip" is that he gets ALL the profit from the fee you pay his business. I think it's unethical for the owner of a business to take a tip, actually, unless they go above and beyond so much so that you think the price you're paying is unjustifiably low.

I don't. I have been to 2 salons where the owners have cut my hair. In one, the owner actually refused it.
