If there's ONE thing I HATE... (MIL VENT)
It's when she comes to visit and is REEKING of cigarette smoke and I immediately have to hand over my baby 
Now she stinks of smoke I am SO grossed out right now.

Ugh. 
I have a firm rule that no one that smells of smoke is allowed to hold DS.
I took him into work the other day and my boss reached out to hold him and I told him no because he smelled like smoke and I was trying not to expose him to that.
But I know that's easier said than done with MILs.

I know the feeling, when I go pick my boys up they smell of smke. She desont smoke in the house, but it still smells in there. This is another reason Im trying to convince DH into daycare

Diane I'm going to tell you alot of the daycare workers smoke (not in the center), but they STINK of smoke too. I hate dropping her off some mornings....the girl always smells of it.

I would say something to her, like not to smoke before shes going to come to your home and hold your baby.

My MIL and FIL both smoke. They know if they want to hold Victoria they must wash their hands and put a burp blanket over them to cut down on the smell of cigarettes. Thankfully they have only been here a handful of times and have not needed to smoke while visiting.
But after DH and I both have given up smoking for our daughter and we are both pretty adamant about this issue.
And no, we don't keep this rule only to MIL and FIL. Anyone who smokes gets the same treatment.

Ugh! I'm in the same boat. MIL smokes and she REEKS. Even gifts from her house have to be aired out.
I keep telling DH that even if she is not actively smoking around the baby the lingering smell can't be good for him.
Wish I could think of something to do/say!
