If you are an OT, etc working for an agency...
How does it work when you need a day off? Are you required to do make ups?
Does your agency go by the school districts calendar as far as holidays? Do you get, for example, Christmas vacation off?
TIA

If you have preschool or school age cases, they follow the calendar of the school district the student is enrolled in. EI is 12 months, no vacation. You can not do any make-ups for school calendar days off, but you can make up any other absences. You don't HAVE to do make ups, but I try and do them if I the provider i am absent. EI you have more flexibility to do make ups because you can treat them on the weekends.
Basically you can take any day you want off, you just won't get paid obviously. Also no parent is going to love a provider who is frequently absent, nor would an agency because the parents won't be happy and you won't be making them any $$$.
