If you are due right around Christmas....
Are you getting any "My first Christmas" things - in case your baby is born in time?
I'm due 12/23 and I did get a cute little outfit for  from Marshalls - but now I just saw these adorable ornaments and I want to get one "just in case" but then maybe that's silly...
WDYT?
Oh and how cute are these???

i would do the decorations bc he will always have a 'first christmas' even if you have to save it for next year. Not sure if I would buy outfits if I was that close - or at least not one that says 'my first christmas'. I would buy 'holiday' outfits...

Not a Christmas mom to be, but those are adorable. You should most likely hold off, maybe someone will get you a gift like that in the hospital.

Ornaments yes, outfit no. Although I really want to, I don't want to jinx myself and have Baby E late.

Hah - see I went the opposite!
I got the outfit... it was from Marshall's and SO cheap!
Those ornaments are like $40 because they're hand-painted.... so I'm not sure... KWIM

March mommy crashing because I feel like crashing
Hayley-the only issue I see with the hand painted ornament is the year. If you don't put the year on, you are safe. Otherwise, you have 2009 on there and lets say you gave birth 12/26, you missed the mark, whereas the outfit you can return-KWIM? If you get the ornament with no date and maybe ask if DS is here before x-mas you can get the year painted on, that would be better-KWIM?

Michelle has a good point about the year. You can always buy them if comes early.

Someone will probably buy you an ornament for your DC for their first Christmas if they are born in time, but if you want to get them, get them.
Like a pp said, don't put the date on it though.
My sister was due Dec 12, and my mom wound up being induced on Dec 27th with her. She has ornaments saying baby's first Christmas 1989, but her first christmas was in 1990 .

I got a cute little outfit and bib for the baby to wear. Someone also gave me an outfit but, it was 6 mos so I returned it.
We've gotten a bunch of ornaments already as gifts, even though the baby isn't here yet and it's only the middle of November!

I am due 12/21 and havent been able to find any cute xmas outfits.

I have thought about this so much!!! I would not do an ornament with the year printed on it...
However I would buy an outfit..Marshalls and TJ MAXX had so many cute Carter's things, and cheap, so it's worth it...
Also, maybe for the outfit, you don't necessarily need to get a "My First Christmas", you can get snowman, or "Santa's Helper" which he can wear after the fact...then next year, he can have a My first Christmas..KWIM?

I was in BRU yesterday with my mom and we were going crazy over the little outfits, but not only am I not sure if the baby will beon time but were also  so my mom said she will go buy an outfit if we need one
