What do you plan on doing to entertain them? I'm a FTWM and I'll be home in the summer. A little anxious about keeping the kids entertained. I give SAHM so much credit!!!

I have the same issue. DS is 3.5 and I am staying home for the first time ever! I plan on doing a lot of pool, beach, library, Long Island Children's museum and the free bowling thing. I have toyed with the idea of buying a season pass for White post and the bronx zoo but I think I am passing on those (DS is not so into the animals). I have also contemplated a season pass to adventureland. I have pinned a LOT of activities for summer time and am preparing myself now. Plus a ton of playdates and things like that :)

No camp here
Parks (I go to about 3 or 4 to change it up)
Town pool
Beach
Zoos(joined the membership to go unlimited)
Play in backyard with pool or sprinkler
Mall
Bike ride around neighborhood
Free bowling
Library program, story time
Play inside with their toys...sometimes we all prefer that with the AC, snacks, bathroom all familiar and close by Chat Icon

Ds will be 4 this fall, not doing camp. I am planning on doing what the pp have mentioned. I also have a 2 yo, so it makes pool and beach tricky if I'm alone. Im hoping dh and my mom can take a lot of days off this summer.

Well my girls are doing camp at their preschool. 5 yr old will go 3 mornings and my 3 yr old 2 mornings. They will go different days so I will have 2 every afternoon and 1 every morning.

I plan to spend a lot of time at the village pool. I will be using my memberships to go the LICM, the natural history musem and the bronx zoo/aquarium etc. I signed up for the kids bowl free. My girls will do free storytime and activities at the library. I will probably take them to the beach a few times. We also have a swingset and some outdoor water toys sidewalk chalk, etc.

The key is to plan something everyday and not let them get bored. I keep arts and crafts, movies and some new puzzles around for rainy days or we hit the LICM or aquarium those days

I have also contemplated a season pass to adventureland.

We just bought the season pass to Adventureland. We were there one day for 3 hrs and we added up the total that it would have cost for our 3.5 year old based on the amt of rides she went on. Would have been $35 for her for just 3 hrs...so we know the season pass was worth it b/c you make your money back in about 4 visits. And since they are open from now until October, that is not even once a month. So worth it!

My DD is 3.5 and will not likely be in school this summer.

We plan to do alot of beach, Adventureland, library, swim and gymnastics once a week, playdates, visit family, etc. But even still, it is NEVER enough for her.Chat Icon

We are also going to try Splish Splash in Riverhead and if she likes it, maybe get a season pass for that too.
