If you banked cord blood privately..

.. which company did you decide to go with and why? I am leaning towards Viacord.

We went with cryocell. They were cheaper. Viacord was so pushy, constantly leaving messages, mailing us stuff, they arrgivated me. My sister did cryo-cell with her two kids and have had no issues with them. The process was very easy.

I went with CryoCell as well. They were very nice and easy! And, we got a free Baby Bjorn (we didn't know about that when we chose them).

we went with CBR. We have DR.s in the family and they said to go with CBR so we did. I also have a TON of friends who went with CBR as well. Because we dont know much of why or who was better, our family members told us from their experience and knowledge to go with CBR.

edited to say after reading, I have to say CBR was great, customer service was great we delt with them via email, no pushy phone calls or emails, pick up was so easy not even funny they were there in less than 30 minutes when DH called for pick up, the whole process was so easy. Just wanted to let you know.

I used Viacord. It was well known and I hoped it would stay in business for a long time.

Thanks - we are leaning toward Viacord because of their R&D. Seems like the best place to store, the place where they develop uses for it!

Waiting to get prices tho - this may change our minds.

We used Viacord, DH researched a bunch of different ones and they seemed the best for pick up/delivery, storage etc. They weren't pushy at all with us and made the whole process very easy. I would recommend them

We used Viacord with our first and will again this time around. They were GREAT to work with when I had dd 3 yrs ago.

I found the salespeople good but not overly pushy. I found CBR to be a real PITA.

My OB's office recommended Viacord saying it's the most stable company to be around for a while. They're also doing their own research as well, not just banking the blood for profit.

We used CBR. My DH researched this thoroughly and decided they were the best. Very nice to deal with as well. They even sent my DS a first birthday gift (book).
