Can you put your eye exam through your medical insurance? I do that. Tell them you are having bad headaches lately and think your prescription needs to be changed. Then you just have to pay for your glasses/contacts.

Re: If you dont have vision coverage.....?
Eyeglass Factory Outlet in Hicksville. I get my daughter's extra glasses there. They are $30 a pair and have great frames. In addition, they have an optometrist available, by appointment. I think the charge is $30, but have never used this. In addition, they warranty the glasses for a year. So when my daughter broke a pair, they replaced them with a new pair for $10.

Re: If you dont have vision coverage.....?
I used to go to places like Sterling Optical or Pearle Vision, and recently started going to Costco for my exam and glasses and contacts. The prices are really reasonable.

They are in a center that borders Old Country Road. There is a King Kullen in the center. They also have premium eyeglasses, whcih I bought for myself as a second pair. Complete they were $100.00 and are great.
