If you get highlights AND all over color ...
how do they usually do it? Color your hair first, rinse, then do highlights or do the highlights then add color to the hair that isn't foiled?
Just curious what everyone thinks the norm is ...

My hairdresser applies the single process color first, washes and blow drys my hair and then applies the foil highlights.

Thank you! That's the way I've had it done in the past but when I had it done somewhere new, it was done the other way. And I have A LOT of gray (and hadn't had permanent color in my hair since September 2008 because I was pregnant).
It was done only a month ago but I feel like I have 5 color hair - the brown color she applied, the highlights she put in, my GRAY "highlights" and my dark brown & gray roots!!
I feel like if she had done the whole head brown first, I'd definitely have less gray and care a little less about my roots seeming to grow in a lot already.
