I eat them. I ignore the fact that some people are slobs and gobble them up.

I might not eat them if someone gave them to me who had flies swarming their head and dirt under their nails... but then again.. they ARE cookies...

Ditto.

However - I work with a man who will not eat homemade anything, but has no problem eating Taco Bell. Chat Icon We goof on him all the time.

eta: I don't make anything to give as gifts - I'm not a very good baker.

I am a teacher and I do not eat any food the kids bring in, because I see some of the disgusting habits they have and god knows what their kitchen looks like. (I have literally seen roaches jump out of backpacks).
If it comes from a friend or family member, then yes i eat it

Exactly!

Re: If you give or receive homemade holiday cookies - questions

My SIL does this every year. Every year it is the same kinds of stuff. I like it. NO ONE else in my family does. Two families have nut allergies so they toss it in the garbage without even opening it because without fail, she makes 7 layer cookies. My parents pick at it, but wind up tossing it after I've eaten their 7 layer cookies. I have no idea what the other two siblings do.

1. Yes I would eat them (as long as they were a kind I liked)

2. I wouldn't specify. But then, I normally only give baked goods to people I know really well in the first place, so I'd be aware if they had, say, a peanut allergy.

Only if I know what your kitchen looks like and if you're a clean person. If not in the garbage they go...
