If you had BAD PDD after your first ....what happened when you had your second,third..etc...?
Im due with my second in sept and i had horrible PDD im really praying this doesnt happen to me again...i know its a 50/50 chance but what was your experience? TIA

I had it so terrible after my 1st and my Dr wanted to give me meds right after DD#2 was born. I decided to wait and see and be cautious and I am glad I did, because I was fine!!!! It was such a relief. I hope the same for you

I was really afraid of this too. DD #2 is 8 weeks tomorrow, but I was okay. I did have alot of weepy days but I had DD#1 to keep me very busy and I only had the weepys at night around 6 oclock for some wierd reason. Went away at 4 weeks..

I'm sorry to say that I had bad PPD with my first and it came on in exactly the same way with my second.  On the fourth/fifth night postpartum the terrible anxiety and panic and other awful feelings started.
Luckily, while it was severe, I was a VERY good and quick responder to medication.
I am praying for you that you are in the 50% that doesn't get it second time around. Try and make a plan though- it will help you to feel prepared.

i only had the baby blues for about 2 months but had nothing at all with my 2nd...gl!

I had PPD with my first, but with my second, I think I have had more of the "baby blues". I did suffer from depression, but not as badly as the first time around & it didn't last as long. I've been feeling better the last couple of weeks & I'm hoping it stays this way!

I had PPD with my first. I went on meds, and with #2 went on meds in the hospital to prevent it again.
The meds helped a lot, but I still feel anxious, etc. I dont really cry that much, but the feelings of avoidance with my DS is there. Having 2 is harder than I ever thought, especially with an unhappy, high maintenance LO.

I had it with my 1st....and I'm sorry to say it was much worse with my 2nd...
Def seek help from docs while you are PG, so they can begin to battle it before the baby is born.

Just wanted to give hugs......I don't know your situation but what helped me when I had PPD with my second was being able to sort of step outside of the pain and know that it DOES go away..... I had more hope because I knew how it went away after my first child. It got better before and it WILL get better again.

We both had our two DC so close together.....just wondering if there is any correlation between PPD happening twice being more likely if deliveries are less than two years apart?
