If you had your DC's bday party at a party place...

Can you really just show up and everything is set up and done for you?

DS's 2nd bday is right around my due date. I'm considering having a small kiddie party with about 10 kids at one of those kiddie party places in the city. Most of them cost about $1000 for 10-12 kids so it will be almost $100 per kid! It seems expensive but I think it's worth it for the convenience of being able to show up and not doing anything. I'll be in my final weeks of pregnancy.

Some places I'm looking into are Art Farm in the City, Kidville, NY Kids Club or 74th St Magic.

How did you feel after you gave birth to #2?

I put up a post yesterday about whether I should do the party a few weeks before my due date or after DC#2 is born.

One option I have is to have a family bday party at home on his actual birthday and have the kiddie party a month later (after DC#2 is born).

I do believe they do everything for you but those prices seem crazy. I work in the city but live in Queens and I know that city prices are higher- but that sounds unreasonable to me! $100 a kid? Are they eating surf and turf for lunch? Chat Icon

Unfortunately I think everything costs about double in Manhattan compared to the suburbs. The most basic party with tax and tip will be a little over $1000 and then if you want any extras, they charge you for that.

That price sounds right esp considering Manhattan

my brooklyn party was about $800

so...i probably would have preferred to do the party BEFORE DS#2

but after it was fine...i didnt bring him to the party though
