If you have an area rug in your bedroom. . .
. . is it under the bed, in front of the bed or next to the bed?
I'm trying to figure out where to put a rug, so I can figure out what size to get.
I like to have the rug to step on when we get out of bed, but putting it under the bed seems like such a waste.

I feel like if I put it next to the bed, ( it would be on my side, Dh is by the window) I'd be cheating him out of rug. No one likes a cold floor!

Get him a pair of slippers that he can keep on the side of the bed!

This is how we have ours - its kind of under the bed on that side, but more next to the bed. DH doesn't even have room to get out on his side he has to climb over me anyway to get out of bed.

We have one under the bed that comes out on each side and in front of the bed but not too much, just enough. We got it at Home Depot for a good price. Not sure of the size but we have a california king bed!

That could work. I'm not even sure if he cares.

Ooh, another good idea-- I get out first any way.
Our room is long & narrow & we first put the bed all the way to one side & I don't think I like it, but we are still painting & moving things around, so we might center the bed.

That must be a big rug. We have a queen.
Thanks for your help! I think I need to look for pictures!

We have nothing now (thank goodness for slippers ), but in our co-op, we had a large area rug that took up most of the floor, so it was under the bed and came out beyond the bed as well. We kind of had to though, because the co-op rules stated that 80% of the floor needed to be carpeted.

That what we had in our previous 2 apts. I was a rug from a capret store that they made to size for my 1st apt that had the 80% rule. I almost looked like wall to wall. We brought it here, but its not the right proprtions, so it looks weird.
Now, I want more of the floor to show. I'm not sure where to put a rug.. We have the 80% rule, but the co-op board president said we don't have to follow it unless someone complains, b/c we are on the 1st floor--he is too & he doesn't have rugs.
