If you have have or are getting a BUGABOO...
I live in the city and am considering the Bugaboo....
My main concern is that it folds in 2 pieces...
Is that a pain? Especially when getting around the city?
Was thinking of getting a snap and go and maclaren instead....

I am still torn about the bugaboo. I got the snap and go and was advised by friends to use that until the baby is about 6 months and then get a nice umbrella stroller. I am not sure, but I think the bugaboo is only in two pieces when you are using the bassinet option...

Get the Bugaboo Bee. It's their newer stroller model and it's all one piece but it still has alot of the great features of the larger Chameleon (sp?) stroller - the front or rear facing seat position, ability to hold certain carseats, etc.. It's very light weight and folds up small (for those of us who don't have an SUV sized trunk).
Not to mention it's list price is $529 instead of the $899 they want for the larger version.
Still comes in a variety of colors!

Re: If you have have or are getting a BUGABOO...
I was set on getting one until I found out from reps at bbb and bru that you have to remove the seat/bassinet attachments before folding and then those pieces do not fold at all, so if you need to put them in a regular trunk, it would be a problem.
I heard that they are good though if you live in the city or somewhere that you don't regularly use a car.

I'm getting the Bugaboo Bee too and at first thought it was rather low myself.
But its many benefits outweigh that one negative. Test drive it abit more and see if you don't mind the height being low. I think works great with smaller moms - like me. :D

Re: If you have have or are getting a BUGABOO...
I have the Bugaboo Frog and while I love it (it glides like on butter) it is a bit of a pain since it folds into two pieces AND when I needed to take the subway and grabbed the stroller to go up or down the stairs, my body was hitting the button that unclicks the top part and the bottom piece almost fell down the stairs (on top of my son being heavy to begin with). So its a great stroller (no stroller compares with the way the Bugaboo rides) but if you're looking for a practical stroller, this isn't the one for you. But if you're planning on using it just to walk the streets or even going by car, it is a great stroller and it folds very easily even though into two pieces. HTH.

In that case what would you recommend?
A macLaren? are they convenient for strolling around?

Re: If you have have or are getting a BUGABOO...
The folding mechanism on the bugaboo was one of the easiest we tried, and I think we tried ALL of them out there... We live in a house and I know a friend of mine that lives in an apt said the only thing that held her back with the Bug was that it took up too much room, bc the chair/bassinet were separate which makes sense, but as for the folding mechanism, its really really easy and light!!!!

Re: If you have have or are getting a BUGABOO...
We are getting a Bug, and I am not concerned with how it folds. Would I rather not have to take it apart-- yes. But, that is not a deal breaker for us.
When walking around the city, or the like-- I won't need to fold it. It will be stored for the most part in our apt erect, not folded, most likely when not in use.
The only issue for us would be when we drive somewhere-- and because it does collapse and come apart so easily I am not really concerned. Also, we plan to use the base as a "snap & go" anyway-- so, we either will bring the bassinet/seat-- or forgo it and just use the car seat.

Re: If you have have or are getting a BUGABOO...
Once you have the hang of folding it up and down, its not too much of a pain to put away, however, if you had, lets say to do this 5/6 times in one day...it might get a little tiresome.
Eta, of course its not perfect, but imo its the best pram on the market.

It's not really the folding mechanism that bothers me...it's the fact that it folds in 2 pieces....
Does that get annoying?
Do most people end up leaving it open?
How is convenient for city dwellers who mostly live in apartments and don't have much room to spare?

Our friends who lived in a an apt, kept it in one piece and just stowed it away near the front door, never really folded it up, and it seemed to work for them..but we live in a house so I think we'll just fold it up bc we have the room for the two pieces, i guess it realy depends on the room that you have...

Honestly, for the smoothest ride WITH the ease of one hand fold and a stroller that isn't too bulky, you really can't beat the City Jogger. I LOVE mine.

We live in the city and after looking at and considering the bugaboo, peg perego skate, aria and pliko, orbit, and pretty much every stroller out there, we settled on the baby jogger city mini. We're getting the bassinet and car seat attachment, so it has all the functions and can be used from birth on. My friend had a bugaboo in brooklyn (worked in the city) and sold it on craigslist by the time her daughter was 5months. She said the only thing it was good for was trips to the park down the block from her. It was too heavy to use if she had to take a subway or anything else. She said it was a total waste.
