If you have landscapers...when we you tell them to come back?
Our shrubs are out of control (at least I think they are) I didn't know if it was too soon to call the landscapers to come.

It's not too soon and you could actually save some money. They don't have much work this time of year, so you might be able to get a deal if you ask for it.
I had a tree care/landscaping service at my house today.

Depends on the bush. What I've been finding from googling information is that a lot of pruning should be done when things are dormant (winter/early spring).
I also found a lot of spring bloomers should be pruned after they flower. Like Lilacs.
So it really depends. If they're out of control, they probably wouldn't look that nice unpruned anyway. I pruned one of my hydrangeas at the worst time last season because I had to - it was cutting off the walkway to the house. I won't get flowers this year but I didn't really have a choice.
