If you have one of those big cedar playsets in your yard...

How do you maintain it, and what do you have on the ground where the swings are?

We bought our house 4 years ago and the previous owners had put one of those big cedar playset yards in the back about a year earlier. We had no kids when we moved in and just had a baby 4 months ago, so we never use it. Our nephews play on it when they occassionaly come over, but it doesn't get alot of use right now. I will admit we have done NOTHING to take care of it and it looks pretty worn and dirty now. I'd like to spruce up my backyard as we have a really nice yard, but this is getting to be an eyesore for me, and I'd like to neaten it up. Also, what do ou have on the ground under the swing area? right now, ours is dirt and rocks, but if the kids should fall, they might get hurt.

How do you maintain the wood on the playset?

TIA!

We are having one installe dnext week. They told us to seal it every year. we are goingto keep grass under it for now. There is a built in picnic table that I think we will put rubber mulch or something else under since we won't be able to mow.

You have to seal it every year. Sometimes when you buy it the company will offer you a special for the first year and they will come and do it for you. I think we may just have them come back again to do ours every year.

We have grass under ours. You can get the rubber mulch for underneath. It looks really nice.
