If you have sliding glass doors in your kitchen?
Can I see your window treatments.
Right now we just have valances, but I want something else, but not sure what. I'd really like some sort of blind to close them at night, but not sure of what I want and not a huge fan of the vertical blinds.

I don't have a pic but I think I will be installing roller shades. A friend of mine has them on her sliders & they look great! I am also not a fan of veritcals.

They're not sliding glass doors but this is what we have: I have a rod above the door with 4 panels. I pull them open in the morning
And close them up at night:

My MIL did something similar to this with the curtains.
My mom did that too and I LOVE how easy it is to open and close.
