If you live in Nassau and work in Queens - come in
How long is your commute?
Do you have extra taxes taken out of your check (NYC tax?)
Is parking an issue?

I don't but I can tell you that NYC does not currently have a commuter tax, so non NYC residents don't have to pay NYC taxes if you work in NYC (any borough)
You used to, they stopped in '98 or '99 I think, but there is always talk of bringing it back.

DH commutes to Queens everyday. We live in Nassau, on the north shore. It's actually quicker for him to take 25A (Northern Blvd) in instead of LIE or NSP pkwy because we are so far north of the parkways. It takes less than 30 minutes to go from Bayside, Queens to the Oyster Bay area.

Re: If you live in Nassau and work in Queens - come in
It depends on where in Nassau and where in queens. FH's commute from franklin square to fresh meadows took 15 minutes, whereas for me to go from where I live to hofstra took an hour and would have taken more time if it were the nassau-queens direction in the morning. ETA: Parking aso completely depends. Does the place have a parking lot? Some parts of Queens are easy to park in (though usually not the ones where lots of business es are) and some are as bad as Manhattan. It all depends
