Is it noisy, will it keep someone else in the room awake?

It does make noise. It's a steady noise, though, so when I was using one, it didn't bother DW after a day or so. It's like having a window AC unit going in the room on low. Since it's creating air pressure, there is a pump, and air flow noises. After a while, it becomes a white noise machine, and you don't even notice it.
And, it's MUCH, MUCH quieter than a snorer, and much more consistent than a snorer with apnea who stops breathing throughout the night!

My DH has had a sleep apnea machine for quite a few years now. Yes, it does make noise, and yes, it does keep me awake. He's tried different types of masks to try to limit the noise, and the current one he's using (that covers the whole face pretty much) is the quietest. The noise is steady, like the PP said, but I find it to be annoying. Any time DH moves and the mask shifts, the noise gets louder, as more air is being released. If it's really noisy, sometimes him adjusting the pressure will help. The noise doesn't keep me awake for the entire night, though....it's just a few times, and I usually end up putting in ear plugs or keeping the pillow over my head. Honestly, it's not keeping me from sleeping at night, and it's worth it for DH.
DH also snores, so he wears Breathe Right strips in addition to the mask to eliminate the noise of that!
Also wanted to add that if you're close enough to the person wearing the mask, you can feel the cool air coming out of it. Like when DH wants to cuddle and his head is near my face, I have to move away because I get a chill from it!! So you have to learn to make a few adjustments, but overall, I don't think the noise and stuff is so bad for me to deal with (afterall, he's the one wearing it on his face!).

Dh wore one for a while, it made a little bit of noise but it was a 100x better noise then the snoring/ gasping noises. If it shifted on his face it would make a louder noise and sometimes wake me up , we would just readjust it and g o back to sleep.
We were lucky , once we moved into our house he didn't need it anymore. We learned that if we kept the room very cool with the ceiling fan on his snoring is pretty much non existent and he sleeps well.

If it isn't fitted properly it does make noise. It also helps if I am asleep before he puts the mask on. Fitted correctly hardly noticeable, but if he shifts, turns, whatever and it's not a good fit, its super loud and I usually wake him so that he could fix the mask.

DH just got one and it does not make noise ! The only time I hear it is when the machine is on and his face mask is not fitted yet. I was so worried because I have heard others and was worried about my own sleep.
