If you shop at The Children's Place

Is the clothes good quality? Do you like the styles and how they fit your DC?

DS (10 months) is a big baby and I'm not sure where to buy hic clothes for the fall. I love the Carter's stuff bc it's comfy for him but I want to try other brands too. babyGap looks like it won't work, it's not made for chubby babies. DS has always had trouble with their pants, they squeeze the life out of his chubby tummy. He's just about too big for size 18 months but i think 18-24 will be huge.

Any other suggestions for where I might try getting him some clothes? At 10 months he's 24 lbs and 30 inches.

It's good but it runs really small. I like to watch for their deals though like $10 denim etc.

Also try Osh Kosh and H&M.

See...this is one of those weird things. I found that the pants run big on DS and the shirts pretty true to size. Baby gap pants were an issue with DS's belly, but he has slimmed way down... at 2.5 he's almost the same weight he was at 1 but taller. I have found that Osh Kosh pants were pretty tight on DS's belly, too. Now, they are okay.

I guess every kid is different! GLChat Icon

Their tops run really small. Bottoms are true to size.

I am not that impressed with the quality. I don't think they do that well after a few wash.

Re: If you shop at The Children's Place

I love love love H&M, but everything I go selection is limited and they seem to be sold out of the sizes I need.

I found great great organic cotton sweat pants, amazing quality for like 5 bucks. I wish I could find more, but there is never enough for me there. Its like it goes so fast.

I'm not a big fan of children's place quality, I rarely find anything I like in boys clothes. There was an army print hat I got as a gift that was cute, but that was about it.

I agree with all of this.

Their quality used to be much better. When DD #1 was born that is the primary place I shopped, now it is last.

How about Old Navy?

ETA: Also, BRU has alot of brands that might work for you...Koala Baby, Miniwear plus of course Carters.

Re: If you shop at The Children's Place

My DS is definitely a bigger baby. He's 1 yr old, and I like the Osh Kosh stuff for him. But so far he's been in their shorts and tshirts. I don't know how their pants fit. They look really long though.

I found that as DS got bigger, the Jumping Beans brand at Kohls ran small, same with Old Navy.

He's completley out of Carters, except for their pajamas.

He has some stuff from TCP, but it's all been shorts and tanks for the summer. They don't carry 2T, so my DS went from 24 mos to 3T.

Love CP. I find their clothes good quality and true to size. Actually the pants run a bit big and tops are pretty much true to size.
Plus, they're cheap and give out coupons all the time. Even if you forget a coupon they'll let you use theirs

Re: If you shop at The Children's Place

My DS was a big boy, now he is very tall for his age, but thinned out. He lived in Carter's clothes the first year, and then I started buying at CP more.

I like their stuff, but I think all the sizing is weird - you have to try the stuff on and return whatever doesn't fit. I think the quality is fine for little kids clothes and they have crazy sales, which is when I buy larger sizes to put away for when he is older.

Re: If you shop at The Children's Place

they have great customers service, too. I went to the store to get a particular hat i saw online and liked for DS, but they didn't have his size in the store. Instead of telling me to check other CP stores, they gave me a free shipping code so i could order it online. Chat Icon

Re: If you shop at The Children's Place

People gave me a few outifts when DD was born and I liked them - thought they washed really well.

They are having a huge sale now. I just went there today and was also able to use a 15% coupon I printed offline.

But the sizes are weird. I bought DD some stuff in 12 months and some in 18 months and I just tried them on her when we got home and they all look like they fit the same but are different sizes.

The shirts and leggings I bought up a size

Jeans and onesie I bought true to size

I agree.....not a CP fan at all and DS lived in Carters for the first 2.5 yrs olf his life.

I don't think it washes well at all. The Jeans are OK and the only thing I really liked from there. I ventured in the other day and didn't like the colors/ styles at all.

Re: If you shop at The Children's Place

I find TCP sizing weird. I've purchased pants that are super long in the same size as ones that are an inch or 2 shorter, mostly in toddler sizes. How does that make any sense, all from the same store?

I like their stuff but the girl's styles are hit or miss for me. Some seasons I've hated what they've had and other's I've loved it. I think it was last fall? they had these really ugly loud prints. The boys stuff always sort of seems to stay the same and I like it most of the time.

Re: If you shop at The Children's Place

I love the boys clothes and hate the girls!
I love the polos, shorts or pants look! and their play shorts and tanks (all cotton) are cute...it is very plain not too wild just like I like! Then the sweaters in the fall winter are cute too!

but...

the girls clothes are loud! I do not like the style..I feel like they don't match the boys! Not a fan of much on that side of the store!

I do find on both sides they run a little small! So I just adjust so I usually just get the size up whenever I shop there! Not a big deal!

ETA: I havent really found a problem with washing either!

Re: If you shop at The Children's Place

I don't find it to be good quality. I've had quite a few things get holes during the wash and had to return them quite shocked! Also runs small. And I hate the stuff. They had the prettiest fall colors the year DD was born. Beautiful gold, orange and burgundy type colors for fall and then pretty soft muted spring colors too in late winter early spring. But ever since then for the last 2 or 3 yrs it's been nothing but psychedelic funky orange purple turquoise season after season and busy patterns too.
