If you switched OB practices, how did you do it?
do you need to tell your old OB and get anything transferred?
how far along were you?
Thanks!

Re: If you switched OB practices, how did you do it?
I made an appointment with my new office. They faxed me a Records Release Form. I filled it out - faxed it back to them, then they requested my records and that was it... no interaction btwn my old practice and me... much less stressful.
I was 16 weeks.

Re: If you switched OB practices, how did you do it?
I had to do it twice this pregnancy - once at 12 weeks and again at 16 weeks. The first time, I called my old OB and told them I was moving, and they copied all my files. I paid over the phone and picked them up at the office. When I brought them to the (first) new office, they made copies of the copies, so I had the original copies. That worked out great because when I had to switch again at 16 weeks I still had the copies and didn't need to pay again!
It was important to me that they have the files from my previous pregnancy because it showed what testing I had (so that I didn't need to be tested again for a lot of things) and they could also see the record of my C-section and hospital stay (especially important for me because I want to do a VBAC).

Thanks. I'm a little nervous of telling my old OB. I feel like I am cheating on her!

You don't have to tell her! Just call the front desk and deal with them!

Even that makes me nervous!!! They all know me by first name there!
